"A remarkable introduction into the complexity and enormity of D-Day. Thank you for a brilliant Tour"

A One-Day Tour will normally be based on:

  1. US 82nd Airborne Division. "The All American"
La Fiere - "Probably the bloodiest small unit action in the history of American Arms"
St Mere Eglise and the Airborne Museum.

  2. UTAH Beach and the US 4th Division landings. Often overshadowed in popular histories by "Bloody OMAHA", UTAH was of vital importance to the achievement of key strategic objectives on D-Day and for the development of operations thereafter.

  3. US 101st Airborne Division. "The Screaming Eagles"
Brecourt Manor and Easy Company. "The Band of Brothers"
Angouville au Plein. Humanity triumphs over the barbarity of war.
St Come du Mont. Eight centuries of history and one of the most spectacular individual accounts which began on D-Day.

  4. The German Cemetery at La Cambe.

  5. The US Military Cemetery and Interpretation Centre at Colleville sur Mer overlooking OMAHA Beach.

OR

  • The La Cambe German Cemetery.

  • Pointe du Hoc and the US Rangers. A triumph of planning, training and execution by elite and well-led troops. A failure of intelligence?

  • OMAHA Beach. An examination of several sites along the beach from both the German and US perspective.

  • Operation AQUATINT. A 1942 Commando raid on what was to become known as OMAHA Beach.

  • US Cemetery and Interpretation Centre. There can be few more awe inspiring memorials than this final resting place for 9,387 Americans.

  • The German Gun Battery at Longues sur Mer. The most complete remaining installation of the much vaunted German "Atlantic Wall" with the guns still in place.

  • The Artificial Harbour at Arromanches or MULBERRY. This prefabricated harbour, bigger than Dover harbour, was built in secret, towed across the English Channel and constructed in eleven days. The remains are still evident. A remarkable tale of engineering ingenuity, leadership and resolve.
